Kelp has launched Unstaking and Withdrawal for users on Ethereum Mainnet. This version of withdrawals will enable users to withdraw rsETH into ETH and any of the LSTs available on the Kelp protocol, i.e., ETHx, and stETH.
To withdraw your assets, follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to Kelp dApp and connect your wallet
Step 2: Go to the ‘Unstake’ tab.
Step 3: Select the asset that you want to withdraw rsETH as. Currently, there will be 3 options - ETH, ETHx, and stETH.
Step 4: Once the asset is selected, enter the amount of rsETH that you want to withdraw
Step 5: Approve the asset. This is a one-time permission required by Kelp’s withdrawal contracts for your address.
Open your wallet console to check for the Approval request. You will be asked to approve an amount. You can add a custom amount or go ahead with the pre-filled value.
Note: The approved amount should equal or exceed the amount of rsETH you want to unstake.
Step 6: Once the approval is done, verify all the details on the UI and click on ‘Unstake Now’
Step 7: Approve the transaction in your wallet to confirm the unstaking transaction. Once the transaction is processed, you will receive a confirmation on the screen.
Your funds will be available to withdraw in 7-10 days. This includes a 7-day delay imposed by EigenLayer along with the time required by Kelp to execute withdrawals successfully.
Withdrawal Contract: 0x62De59c08eB5dAE4b7E6F7a8cAd3006d6965ec16
Step 8: Go to the Withdrawal section and check if an entry is available for your withdrawal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I withdraw if I have restaked ETH?
Yes. The rsETH that users hold can be unstaked and withdrawn using the Kelp dApp. It does not matter what asset was used to acquire rsETH.
Based on the limits shown on the dApp, rsETH can currently be withdrawn into ETH and available LSTs (ETHx, and stETH)
Can I withdraw my assets instantly?
The withdrawal process has a 7-day unbinding period on EigenLayer contracts. So once a user unstakes, within 7-10 days, their assets should be available to claim in the ‘Withdraw’ section of Kelp dApp
How can I withdraw if I hold wrsETH on an L2 (Blast, Scroll, Optimism, Base, Mode, Linea)?
For users holding wrsETH on L2s, follow the steps below
Unwrap wrsETH to rsETH on the Kelp dApp
Bridge rsETH back to Ethereum using Stargate UI
Once you receive rsETH on Ethereum, follow the guide for Unstaking rsETH
Alternatively, you can exit your position by swapping your wrsETH for other assets using a DEX on the L2. A list of all DEXes is available on DeFi Page
